Industry: Shipbuilding

Shipbuilding imposes extremely high requirements on cutting quality and processing techniques. The fabrication of a ship’s hull,
outfitting components, and various parts all rely on precise, efficient, and cost-effective cutting.
Manufacture Equipment: Laser Cutting Machine 30kw 7units

Cutting Work: 8-25MM low-carbon steel and aluminum alloy plates

Gas Supply Solution: FCP30 (150m³/h nitrogen production on site) 7 units
Before the Investment:
Before investing in the laser cutting machine and FCP mix-gas generator, this large scale shipbuilding factory used the plasma
cutting machines as the main manufacture equipment. However the configuration and productivity can’t meet the increased orders’
demands. In consideration of the cutting efficiency and the machine maintenance costs, the customer replaced the plasma cutting
machines with 8 units of 30kw laser cutting machines and 7 units of FCP30 which produces 150m3/h N2-O2 mixed gas to supply
the cutting gas for laser cutting work.

After the Investment:
1.With the FCP30N2-O2 mixed gas generators, stable and sufficient cutting gas supply is ensured for the requirements of production
schedule for bulk orders;
2.94% purity nitrogen performs better cutting work for 8-25MM carbon steel with higher speed and better cutting surface. For medium-
thickness low-carbon steel and aluminum alloy plates, mixed-gas cutting significantly improves cut quality, reduces burr height less
than 3% of the material thickness compared with air cutting, lowering post-processing costs and improving welding quality;
3.Low maintenance costs helps to shorten the new equipment ROI period.

FCP Series Products Introduction:
Mixed gas cutting employs a specific ratio of nitrogen-oxygen mixture as the laser assist cutting gas, leveraging the advantages of
each component gas (nitrogen for high-speed cutting and oxygen for burr-free cutting) by combining them into a single cutting stream.
This method enables rapid cutting with minimal burrs, significantly improving the cutting quality for medium-to-thick low-carbon steel
and aluminum alloys while achieving higher cutting speeds than pure nitrogen. The burring issues encountered when using pure
nitrogen or air cutting a are minimized or eliminated.

Advantages of Mix-Gas Cutting:
● Improves cutting quality of ordinary steel, reducing burrs to <3% of material thickness.
● Higher surface finish compared to air cutting.
● Significantly increases cutting speed compared to oxygen cutting of high-power medium-thick carbon steel plates.
● Offers a cost advantage compared to liquid nitrogen cutting.
Fine Cutting VS Air Cutting

Application
● Heavy cutting work for carbon steel (replacing the air cutting or liquid nitrogen cutting)
● Burr-free cutting of aluminum ally.
Products Features:
● Compared to liquid nitrogen and liquid oxygen dual-gas mixing systems, it achieves up to 70% savings, delivers rapid returns, with
an average ROI payback period of 12-18 months.
● Easy maintenance, with a system lifespan of 6-8 years requiring regular maintenance.
● LOT-enabled functionality, featuring exclusive SMART-REIN for remote monitoring via mobile devices. It intelligently selects
operational modes based on factory conditions to optimize energy consumption.
● Equipment interconnectivity and collaboration capabilities, enabling coordinated control with machine tools equipped with the
BOCHU system customizable functions.
